Charlies Bistro & Beer Garden Bribie Island Hotel

We love that we can walk from Sylvan Beach House to Charlie’s at the Bribie Island Hotel — our local watering hole. With large outdoor decks, wood-fired pizza, water views, and a relaxed beer garden, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and feel at home on Bribie.

Annie Lane Cafe

Our go-to for a lazy Sunday brunch, Annie Lane has a busy people-watching atmosphere with Brennan Park and the Pumicestone Passage in the background. We love their creative milkshakes and beautifully presented dishes — it’s a local favourite we keep coming back to.

Sylvan Beach Seafood

Fresh fish and chips over the water, just a short stroll from Sylvan Beach House — often with pelicans for company. We love heading here for an easy sunset dinner by the beach.

Café 191 - Arts Centre

Cafe 191 at the Arts Centre is a lovely spot for a coffee, and we usually treat ourselves to a piece of their yummy chocolate beetroot cake. While you’re there, take a wander through the local arts and crafts and say hello to the friendly locals — it’s a wonderful way to spend some time on Bribie.

El Pigface Mexican - Woorim

If you’re up for a short drive across the island, our favourite spot is El Pigface Mexican, a small, fun, and vibrant authentic Mexican restaurant. We usually go for a chimichanga and a sangria, and love dining under the stars or inside the colourful restaurant while listening to the waves nearby — it’s the perfect evening on Bribie.

Social Cafe

With its sunny outdoor vibe and all-day menu, The Social Café at the Bribie Island RSL is a casual, friendly spot locals love. We enjoy popping in for a hearty breakfast, fresh lunch, or just a coffee — it’s always welcoming for people and pets alike.

Savages Seafood

Contested as the best fish and chips on Bribie Island, Savige's Seafood is also a great place to grab fresh seafood, market-style. We love picking up a takeaway and eating it on the grass under the big figs while watching people jump from the Bongaree Jetty — a perfect way to watch the sun go down.

Kenilworth Donuts

Kenilworth Donuts is all about big flavours and even bigger serves — from their famous 1kg donuts to giant sausage rolls. We love grabbing a mixed box to share, with a variety of flavours that always feels like a special treat.

The Surf Club

Just behind the sand dunes at Woorim, the Surf Club has a relaxed, friendly vibe with views all the way to Moreton Island. We love grabbing hot chips after a swim at the beach, or a sunset dinner on the deck — in September, we even spotted whales just off the shore while enjoying our meal!

Sunset Pier Café

Just a short stroll from Sylvan Beach House, Sunset Pier Café is a great spot for a morning coffee or breakfast, with stunning views over the water towards the Glasshouse Mountains. We love starting the day here while soaking up the peaceful waterfront vibe.

Sandstone Point Hotel - Oyster Shed

Just over the Bribie Bridge and still within walking distance if you’re up for a longer stroll is the Oyster Shed Beach Club. We love making an afternoon of it — finding a grassy patch on the hill or a day bed near the fire pit while sipping frozen margaritas. Later, as the sun sets, we always stroll out along the fairy-light-lit jetty to enjoy the Pumicestone Passage from the water.

Scoopy's Ice-Creamery

Just near the Bongaree Jetty, Scoopy’s Ice Creamery is a nostalgic local favourite, where generations of kids have grown up. We love grabbing an ice cream and strolling out onto the jetty to watch the kids playing and fishing — it’s always bustling with families and full of life.

Sunset Park

There’s not a local on Bribie Island who hasn’t got a photo at Sunset Park, just a short walk from Sylvan Beach House. Locals enjoy nibbles and a glass of wine while watching the sunset over the Glasshouse Mountains and Pumicestone Passage — it’s a magical way to end the day, and if you catch a good one, it might be the best sunset you’ve ever seen!

Freshwater Creek Lagoon along Surf Beach

We love heading out to the freshwater lagoons on Bribie’s surf side. Surrounded by trees and full of birdlife, they’re perfect for cooling off with a swim, a paddle, or just enjoying the scenery. It feels like a little secret spot, yet it’s only a short drive from Sylvan Beach House.

Sylvan Beach -Your Beach

We feel so lucky to have this calm beach right on our doorstep of Sylvan Beach House. Its gentle waves lap the white sand at high tide, and at low tide you can walk out and explore the sandy floor of the Pumicestone Passage, discovering little tidal pools, sealife and shells along the way — it’s a perfect spot for a morning stroll, a lazy afternoon, or simply watching the world go by from your doorstep.

Red Beach

We love Red Beach for its long sandy stretch and calm waters. Wander and explorea the shore, discover tea tree–lined inlets, watch dogs having fun, or try your luck fishing off the sand — just a short drive from Sylvan Beach House.

Bongaree to
Red Beach

One of our favourite walks is along the shore from Bongaree to Red Beach, passing Buckleys Hole. The calm waters around the point of Bribie make the walk even more enjoyable, and the area is usually very quiet — a bird-watcher’s paradise, perfect for spotting wildlife and soaking up a little solitude.

Eighth Ave, Woorim

Our favourite Sunday morning fishing spot! Just before the entrance to the 4WD beach access, it’s perfect for early morning fishing or a long beach walk with no traffic — how good!
